盛駅のホームは、改札口を抜けると直ぐに大船渡線の発着する一番線で、三陸鉄道の発着する二番線となります。三陸鉄道に乗車する場合には、階段を上り跨線橋を渡って階段を降りて二番線ホームに向かいます。陸前高田から盛までの間で跨線橋があるのは、この駅舎だけです。

岩手開発鉄道 大船渡市運営
岩手開発鉄道は以前は旅客も運んでいましたが、1992年に旅客輸送業は撤退し日頃市町からの石灰石を大船渡の小野田セメントに運搬するセメント貨物専用路線となりました。
