高田大町郵便局は、1958年(昭和33年)3月から1981年(昭和56年)5月までの約23年間、この地に位置していましたが、老朽化により馬場前に移転しました。かつては、明治時代に氷上(ひかみ)郵便局としても知られていました。移転後の跡地は、高田ふるさと便の事務所や大町駐車場として利用されています。
