普門寺の衆寮と本堂を繋ぐ通路をくぐると、文政元年（1818年）に製作された唐金の大仏や仁王像が祀られている宝仏殿が現れます。さらに、文化年間に建立され、県指定文化財にもなった三重塔が、日本庭園を背景に荘厳な姿を浮かび上がらせています。特に仁王像は、慶応三年の火事の際に運び出されて難を逃れたことから、守護神として一対が祀られています。仁王像の高さは二十五センチメートルの台座を含めて約三メートル余りあり、文化・文政あたりの作と見られています。この時訪れた際、三重塔などが工事中であったのが残念でした。また大仏の脇には山から湧き出ている清水が流れており、手を入れて見ましたが、かなり冷たくて気持ちよかったです。
Passing through the corridor connecting the monks' quarters and the main hall of Fumonji Temple, you will come across the Hōbutsuden (Treasure Hall), where a bronze Great Buddha and Nio guardian statues, crafted in 1818 (Bunsei 1), are enshrined. Further along, a three-story pagoda built during the Bunka era, now a prefecturally designated cultural asset, stands majestically against the backdrop of a traditional Japanese garden. The Nio statues, revered as protectors, were saved from the fire of 1867 (Keio 3), and have been enshrined as guardian deities ever since. Including their 25 cm bases, the statues stand over 3 meters tall and are believed to date back to the Bunka-Bunsei period. Unfortunately, during my visit, the three-story pagoda and other areas were under construction.Next to the Great Buddha, there is a stream of clear water flowing from the mountains. I dipped my hand in, and it was quite cold but very refreshing.

こちらの写真は、上の写真の一年前に撮影したもので、三重塔が日本庭園の見事な松の枝ぶりの中にしっかりと収まっています。三重塔は文化六年（1809年）の建造で、高さは約12.7メートル。各層がそれぞれ趣向を凝らした作りとなっており、県内唯一の塔婆型建築様式を誇ります。昭和50年3月に県指定の有形文化財となり、平成21年には改修工事が施され、その優美な姿が再び表れました。余談になりますがその塔の彫刻は素晴らしいの一語に尽きる彫り物や色彩の艶やかさでした。
