また、気仙誌等を見ると「万人供養碑」ではなく正式名称は「万人施宿塔」と言うとの事。天保七年の建立物で、万人施宿塔は高さが約4.5㍍の花崗岩で出来ており、その脇には宝暦11年に建立された高さ1.47㍍の地蔵尊碑も鎮座しています。
