この慰霊塔は、昔は道路の向かい側の橋のたもとにあったのですが、浜田川の拡張工事により現在の場所に移動されました。万人供養碑と県道141号線の位置取りは画像の様な感じで、石碑の真裏には旭自動車整備工場さんがあり、この浜田川橋を境にして県道141号線は高田町長砂地区と米崎町沼田地区に分かれる町境にもなっています。
