沼田地区側の海を埋め立てたひろい敷地内で、海岸に埋設するテトラポットを製造する作業が行われていました。鉄製の型枠にコンクリートを流し込み、固まった後に型枠を外します。その外した鉄の型枠を作業員の方が2～3人でケレン作業をしている光景を目にしました。自分も似たような経験があるため、簡単に説明しますと、生コン打設時に、どうしてもコンクリートが型枠の縁とか隙間に入り込むので、型枠を外し終えたら「ケレン棒」やハンマー等を使ってコンクリートのクズを叩いたりしながら削り落とします。その後、型枠にコンクリートを剝がしやすくする剝離剤となる油を塗り、次の作業に備えるという下準備です。
