高田松原チリ地震津波指標の斜め前に建立されており、旅館「浮船」側から入ると誰でも直ぐに目に付く場所にあります。
この歌碑は新沼勇・三郎兄弟が、天皇勅題預選された事を讃えて1940年にこの場所に建立されたとの事が、案内板に書いてありました。
