ふれあいセンターの周りには高田交番派出所や舘の沖児童公園、少し行くと市役所等が立地していて陸前高田の官庁街でした。以前のふれあいセンターは上の画像でもわかるとおり外装が汚れかけておりましたが、改装後は外装が新たに塗り直されてイメージが一新されました。
