このお寺は気仙町字丑沢に位置し、国道45号線沿えの高台にあるので、津波の被害は被っていないと思われますが、津波以後訪れていないので定かではありません。永禄年間に建立された長円寺は真言宗に属して「宝尾山」と号して、金剛寺の末寺となっています。また、このお寺はお寺の境内に隕石が落下した事でも有名なお寺です。
