昭和35年5月に三陸を襲ったチリ地震津波の最高潮位指標。指標を見ますと約、四メートルの潮位が示されておりこの潮位なら殆どの家屋が流され高田市内はもとより米崎・小友・大船渡・三陸等が甚大な被害を蒙りました。
